“Malcah has lived in Independence Plaza since 1975. She says that she “would have been homeless” had she not had the opportunity to live in this subsidized housing. She’s an accomplished artist, and works out of her home, utilizing one of the bedrooms as her studio. Everywhere you look in Malcah’s apartment is beautiful. She makes lots of wonderful folk art with a message. She also has some fanciful works by other artists on display in the apartment. Malcah loves clothes, loves to dress up, and spends time outside chatting with the neighbors.”
