“There were so many influences in this project and that’s what really drove me to create the types of images I did. Folklore, storytelling, Appalachian dialect, anthropologic issues, the way the landscape can transform culture, poetry, music all of these things were central to how I went about creating the work. Each time I would explore another part it was like creating a new chapter. The editing became tough because getting them to all talk to each other was a challenge.”
